On iPhone or iPad

On Mac

Click on the Apple menu and choose ‘System Preferences.’ Then click on ‘iCloud’ option and select the ‘Account Details’ option. Click on the ‘Security’ tab and select the ‘Reset Preferences’ option from its submenu. Enter the password set for unlocking your Mac and check whether you can reset the Apple ID or not.

2.Security Questions, Email, And Password

Launch a web browser and visit the account page of your Apple ID. Click on the ‘Forgot Apple ID or Password’ link and enter your current password. After that, tap the ‘Reset’ button and choose any of the three ways to reset your password. You can either answer the security questions of Apple, get an email from Apple or perform a two-step verification.

Note: If you want to receive an email from Apple, then find out that email Apple sent you to your primary email address. Whereas two-step verification will be useful if Apple prompts you for a recovery key.

Method 5: Check Whether your Apple ID is Stored on your Device

For iDevices

Open iTunes and App Stores from Settings and click on ‘Accounts and Passwords’ Select iCloud and return to the Settings window. On Mac

On iTunes

Open the iTunes window and select ‘Accounts.’ Now check whether you are already signed in with your Apple ID or not.
