Solution 1 – By using the PowerShell Command to reinstall the Calculator Application

Many versions of Windows have inbuilt applications so, from the Properties section, you can easily remove that application. By using the PowerShell window, you can easily remove or uninstall this application and also fix the problem in your system.

Step 1

At first, you need to go to the Search panel, type “PowerShell”. Right click on the search result to open the menu and then, choose Run as administrator option via clicking on it.

Step 2

In the PowerShell window, type ‘Get-AppxPackage *windowscalculator* | Remove-AppxPackage’ to run this command and then, press the Enter button.

Step 3

Once the run is completed, you can see the Calculator application will get uninstalled from your system. Now, you will again reinstall this application in your device.

Step 4

After uninstalling this application, again type ‘Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}’ on the PowerShell window. Then hit the Enter key to reinstall this application.

Once the installation process is completed, restart your system and then check if the Calculator application works fine.

Solution 2 – Add a new User Account

Sometimes, this problem may occur with your current user account. Therefore, by creating a new user account, you can easily resolve this problem in your Windows 10 system.

Step 1  

First, go to the Search panel, type “add user” and select ‘Add, edit, or remove other users’ from the list. Alternatively, go to the Settings application, and then click on the Accounts.

Step 2

When the Accounts window opens, you can see the Family & other people option, click on it.

Step 3

In the Family & other people section, tap on the ‘Add someone else to this PC’ option.

Step 4

Next, you need to click on the ‘I don’t have this person’s sign-in information’ option. Then, click on the ‘Add a user without a Microsoft account’ to open the new user account.

Step 5

Now, you can see the Create an account for this PC page opens, put the username and password to open the account.

After creating this account, you have to check, the problem will solve. If the problem is resolved then, remove your old account and use this new account. Before removing the old account, you must copy all your important files and documents to your new account.

Solution 3 –  By using the SFC Scan

By using the SFC scan, you can easily fix this problem. This is a very easier solution for your system.

Step 1

Go to the Search Panel, type ”cmd”. Then right-click on that search result to open the list and select Admin as command option. Alternatively, you can press the Windows Key + X Key to open the menu list and select Command Prompt (Admin) option.

Step 2

In the Command Prompt window opens, write ‘sfc /scannow’ and then press the Enter button. Now the scan will start. It will take minimum 15 minutes to complete the scan process.

Step 3

Once the SFC scan is completed, check whether the problem is resolved or not.

Solution 4 – By using the Command Prompt

If you are unable to run the SFC scan, then you can try this solution to fix this issue. By using the Command Prompt, you can easily resolve this problem in your Windows 10. Check the below steps,

Step 1

In the begging,  you can press together Windows Key + X Key to open the menu list and select Command Prompt (Admin) option.

Step 2

When the Command Prompt window opens, type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to run this commend, and then hit the Enter key.

Step 3

It will take 10 to 20 minutes to scan completes. Once the scan is done, check the problem must fix in your system.

Solution 5 – Update the Calculator Application

If you are using the older version of the calculator application then you may face this problem. So, as soon as possible update the calculator application.

Step 1

You have to press the Windows Key + I Key to open the Settings application. Alternatively, you can directly go to the Settings application.

Step 2

In the Settings application, go to the Update & security section.

Step 3

When the Update & security section, tap on the Check for updates option. Now Windows will find the available updates. When there is in an update available, Windows will automatically update the new version of Calculator application.

After updating this application, reboot your system and then, check whether the calculator works fine.

Solution 6 – Disable the built-in Firewall

At first, press together Windows Key + S Key to open the Search Panel, type “Firewell” and then hit the Enter key.

Once the Windows Firewall window opens, click on the ‘Turn Windows Firewall on or off’ option from the left side panel.

Step 3

In the Customize Settings window,  you can see the private and public network settings section.  Click on the ‘Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended)’ option from both section, and then click on OK to save the settings.

After disabling this, check the problem does not appear.

Solution 7 – Turn on the User Account Control

You can try this solution to fix this problem.

Step 1

You need to go to the Search Panel, type ‘user account control settings’ and then press the Enter key.

Step 2   

In the User Account Control Settings window, fix the slider to its default position and then OK option to change the Settings.

After turn on or enabling this, you can see the calculator works properly without any issue.

Solution 8 – By resetting the Calculator Application

Reset the calculator application, may fix this problem in Windows 10.

Step 1

Go to the Settings application.

Step 2

Once the Settings window opens, select the Apps section

Step 3

In the apps section, you can see all the installed application list. Click on the Calculator and then tap on the Advanced options.

Step 4

Solution 9 – End runtimeBroker.exe process

To fix this issue by ending the runtimebroker.exe process. Follow the below sticks,

At first, you need to press the Ctrl + Shift + Esc key on your keyboard to open the Task Manager.

Step 2

In the Task Manager window, you will find the Runtime Broker, right click on it to open the menu and select End task.
