  5. Choose the Advanced Options from the Troubleshoot window. Then, click on the Command Prompt option.
  6. Type the following commands In the Command Prompt window and hit the Enter button after entering each of the commands:


1st: bootrec.exe /fixmbr
2nd: bootrec.exe /fixboot
3rd: bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd

  6. Press the Y button from the keyboard, if you find any Windows confirmation notification on the computer screen.

Fix 4: Activate the Windows Partition 

The problem can occur if the Windows partitions accidentally get disabled. You can enable the Windows Partitions by following the steps that are mentioned below. 

  1. Use the Windows installation USB or disk. Switch on the computer and boot up the system.
  2. Enter the preferred language, keyboard, and time format and click on the Next button. 
  3. After that, click on the “Repair your computer” option and choose the Troubleshoot button. 
  4. Then, click on the Advanced option and open Command Prompt window by clicking the Command option.
  5. Write down “diskpart” in the Command Prompt window and hit the Enter button. 
  6. Then, type “list disk” and again press the Enter button. 
  7. Thereafter, you will find the list of disks that are attached to the computer and locate the disk number that you need.   
  8. Write down “select disk [number]”. Then, hit the Enter button from the Keyboard.
  9. Type the list volume and press the Enter button. This will help you to show all the disk partitions of the disk that you have selected. 
  10. Establish the partition of Windows which is installed in the system and note down the number. Then, write down “select volume [number]”.

Lastly, type “active” and hit the Enter button. Boot up the system to check if the problem is fixed or not. 

Note: Replace [number] with the number that you have noted down just before.
