What To Do If The Acer Laptop Freezes: Know It Here And Now

Easy Solutions to Fix the Acer Laptop Freezes Randomly

Solution 1 – Locate the Specific Problems

This is a very easy solution to fix this problem. If you find the specific problems on your computer, then you can easily fix this problem.

Step 1

First, open the Run box, by pressing the Windows Home button + R button. Then type regedit in that run box and then press the Enter key or the OK option.

Step 2

Once the Registry Editor window opens, go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then click on the Software.

Step 3

In the software section, click on the Microsoft, then navigate to the Windows section, and then click on the CurrentVersion. Then tap on the Policies, then go the System.

Step 4

In the system section, right click on the VerboseStatus and then click on the modify. Change the value to 1. If the VerboseStatus folder is not there, right click on the white page to open the list in the System window. Select New option and then click on the DWORD (32-bit / 64-bit) Value.

Step 5

Then create the ‘VerboseStatus’ entry and then change the value to 1. Now you can see the shutdown page display on your laptop’s screen. After logging off this, check the laptop works properly without any issue.

Solution 2 – Update the Graphics Driver

Update the driver can fix this problem on your system. If the Windows driver is not updated, then you may face this problem. So what you need to do is that you just simply have to update the driver and then check the problem is fixed.

Step 1

Go to the Search Panel, type Device Manager and then hit the Enter button.

Step 2

In the Device Manager window, go to the Display adapters section. Right click on the graphics card name to open the menu, select Update driver software option. Now Windows will automatically update the driver and the proceed with the onscreen instruction.           

Step 3

After updating the graphics driver restart the system and then check if the problem is fixed or not.

Solution 3 – By using the Command Prompt

By using the Command Prompt, you can fix this issue on your acer laptop.  

Step 1

You need to go to the Search Panel, type cmd, and then right click on the search result. Select Run as administrator option from the list.

Step 2

When the Command Prompt window opens, write ‘netsh winsock reset’ to run this command, and then hit the Enter.

Step 3

Once the run is done, reboot the system and then check the issue should be resolved.

Solution 4 – Increase Virtual Memory

If the above three solutions do not work, you can try this solution to fix the issue.

Step 1

At first, you have to press together the Windows Home button + R button from the keyboard to launch the Run box. Write ‘sysdm.cpl’ and then the OK option or press Enter.

Step 2

Once the System Properties window opens, go to the Advanced tab, then click on the Settings. Then navigate to the Advanced and then, tap on the Changed option. Unmark ‘Automatically Manage paging file size for all drives and then select the Custom size. Set the Initial Size to 1000 and Maximum Size to 8192.

Step 3

After changing the size click on OK and restart your system.

Solution 5 – Run SFC/scannow Command

Sometimes scan the laptop, can fix many issues on your system.

Step1  

In the begging, go to the Search Panel, type “cmd”, and then, right click on the search result. Select Run as administrator option from the list.

Step 2

In the Command Prompt window opens, write ‘sfc/scannow’ to run this command, and then hit the Enter button.

Step 3

Once the scan is completed, reboot your system and then check the problem will fix.

Solution 6 –  Drain it Physically

Another solution, you can try it to resolve this issue on your Acer laptop.

Step 1

At first, shut down the laptop and wait some times to completely off the laptop.

Step 2

After shutting down the laptop, remove the battery carefully.

Step 3  

Hold and press the on/off switch for a few minutes. Now, this way your laptop will drain. Next, you again put the battery and start the laptop and check if the laptop works fine.

Solution 7 – Disable the Off Fast Startup

This solution you can also try to fix this problem.

Step 1

Firstly, press the Windows key + S key to open the Search panel, type Power Options, and then hit the Enter.

Step 2

Once the Power Options window, in the right side panel, you can see the ‘Choose what the power buttons do’ option, click on it.

Step 3

Tap on the ‘Change settings that are currently unavailable.’

Step 4

Unmark the ‘Turn on Fast Startup’, so just turn it off or disable it. Then click on OK to save the changes.
